Standing Flint Blade with Subtle Iconography.

Two standing alignments in this prehistoric flint blade tool. The suspected iconography is subtle but numerous. As always ape like face profiles are present and no doubt those used to reading my materials will see other glyphs too. Red ocher etchings cover the stone, but artistic or symbolic usage here is unclear, they could be little stick men.

Orca and Elephant flint multi-tool

A simple Orca likeness can be seen heading both left and right, elephant and front leg, and a subtle bear or feline on the orca's tip. I would also suggest thumb and nail iconography. The flint is very sharp in places and would most likely have a very specialized use.

Translucent Flint Blade Tool with Birds and Bears

Many face profiles can be seen in this lithic implement, ape or hominin like faces being the most likely suspects generally. Both a left facing and right facing bear head glyph can be seen along with some subtle bird likenesses.

Elephant and Diplodocus?

According to that popular thing known as science, the Elephant and the Diplodocus should never have met, there is at least 15 Million years separating the two in the fossil record.

These two stone age tool finds are from an unknown period but have a similar cortex grip feature. Ape like face profiles are present just like nearly all my other figurative finds, more can be found too! just pick a likely looking eye feature, and run with it ;-)

Mesolithic Flint Tool?

Mesolithic Art 

This worked flint find of mine, was found alongside stone tools described by the Museums Services as 'Mesolithic' back in 2005.  Some face profiles can be seen, including a suspected ape impression, bird and wolf. Of coarse there is no record of an ape population living in the UK in the Mesolithic period. The beak of the bird head profile is a translucent inclusion in the flint itself, apologies  for not getting this alignment quite right, with some adjustment I believe more profile's will be revealed.

A Hidden Landscape.

Portable Rock Art

I don't often reveal suspected landscapes in my finds, hill and mountain shapes are often to ambiguous for a positive identification, as such. Here I have interpreted tree, clouds, sky, stars, grass, roots and cliff.  Not my only suspected  shark impression, but good details are visible, such as the terminal dorsal lobe  of the sharks tail ending, just above the tree.

Leaping Lizards

This prehistoric stone sculpture contains suspected dinosaur imagery, don't panic! as some of the more usual glyphs can be seen as well. The stone will only balance upright in the two positions shown and has many standard dinosaur profiles, also upright.

The Theory of Revolution?

This flint blade tool has much glyph content and some anamorphic art. Study all three animations carefully. Things that should not be missed are: the randy tortoise and two feeding fish.

Prehistoric Clothing

This curios flint find is from my site and is in the more usual white interior, light brown cortex covered material. I suggest that cortex removal technique has been used here to produce this calving of a human arm, sleeve and pointing hand.

On the reverse side of the stone there appears to be a black tar or resin like substance covering the cortex, and some apparent scratches have removed this coating. If this substance has been intentional used, and is organic, then there is a good possibility  that C14 dating is possible here. I have a few possible examples of this, but iron pyrite is more notably used for etching and detailing, and I have far more examples of that.

 Very complex and vague imagery can be seen here, a good front half of a bear is traveling right, another elephant half can be seen facing right as well, i suspect a bison and maybe another lion, i cant seem to bend my mind enough to see them yet. Another elephant head can be seen looking left with trunk curled upwards.

Rare clear quartz tool finds

Unbelievable quartz pieces brought to our attention by Bruce Cox of North Carolina. Bruce says 'A boy, Travis, had found the first piece and  alerted me to the site, where i found the second very similar worked piece'.

These are some amazing pieces, and ceremonial use may enter ones mind as the uses for these very bling tools, on the other hand the second piece appears broken as though used, so maybe the use of the material is more a practical one?. The first piece stands 3 1/8 inches tall, the second 2 inches tall.

American Paleo Tools

These three tool finds by Bruce Cox were found in North Carolina, USA. These were found in close proximity to figure stones, on the same site, in fact quality and density of figure stones led Bruce directly to these amazing paleo finds.

The American Early Paleo period runs from 12,000 to 14,000 bp, being the oldest recognized inhabited period of North America, view's are rapidly changing and many now believe that America was inhabited in an earlier period.

Oval Biface

This oval biface scraper came from my site, as with all of the white material posted on this blog and Revelation in Stone website.The oval is encircled in possible hominid and ape face impressions, many are subtle and hard to catch on camera, and rely on a little imagination. My suspected date for this tool is 150,000 bp.
